Completed Sol Lewitt mural that I worked on.
I have worked professionally in the art world since I was a teenager
At the age of ten I began to print intaglio etchings for my father, the artist, Richard Claude Ziemann. It became my way of working for my allowance. I also had to mow the lawn.
Richard Claude Ziemann, “Wetland Grasses III”
By the time I was twelve I was proficient enough to print editions of his work that went to galleries and museums.
Richard Claude Ziemann, “Maple Tree”
By age fifteen I began to print etchings for the Brooklyn Museum.

When I moved to New York City, I printed etching for the Watanabe Studio and started painting murals for the conceptual artist, Sol Lewitt.
Eventually I became one of Sol’s primary assistants. I painted, or drew murals for national and international museums, galleries, and private collections.
Some examples of my work for Sol below:

I worked an extensive project painting murals for Bill Gates’ residence in Seattle for the architect, Thierry Despont.

We also painted with oil sticks on 16 large linen canvases at a studio in NYC.
After they dried, we shipped them to Seattle and had them affixed to the walls, where we did the finish work to unify all the pieces into two large murals.

Work for Chris Burden
For several years I worked as an art fabricator for the artist Chris Burden.
First, I was hired as one of the crew to fabricate an erector set skyscraper at Chris Burden”s studio.
We then assembled the sections together on a hill in Sun Valley, CA.
Now titled, “What My Dad Gave Me”, the erector set sculpture was installed at Rockefeller Center in NYC for the summer.
Chris then hired me as a full-time fabricator/model maker.
I made several custom built submarines out of cardboard.
A large map of Africa with aircraft carriers.
